Grades of Passion
(Mixed media: marble powder and oil on canvas, 18” X 18”)
This painting illustrates the different grades of passion with the two extremes of love and hate, represented by white and black respectively. In between these two extremes is a gradient of colors, from cold love (brown), to intense excitement (bright red), to serenity and comfort (lilac). The presence of jealousy (yellow streaks) is subtle. The shapes made by each color are unique and are composed of both sharp and curvy edges. As a whole, the painting conveys harmony.
